It is the author\u0027s assertion that this subject be taught in school so as to enhance geographical awareness not only in the classroom but also after graduation, recognizing it is its feature of synthesization that has prevented it from being treated as an independent subject since the school system started in the Meiji era. It is also of vital importance that students learn to perceive social contradictions around them, thus acquiring how to think and act positively out of those negative entities. To this end, it is necessary that teachers\u0027 social behavior be reflected in geography teaching, and that the process from thinking to acting in problem solving be incorporated into such teaching, while taking note of students\u0027 tendencies and updating teaching materials.
