| 内容記述 | Hiroshima has its own condition characteristic of land and climate. We Japanese call it "Fudo" in our own language, but it seems hard for us to put "Fudo" in proper English, which we can dare to identify with the English expression 'natural and cultural environment'. We have four major cities as provincial metropolis in Japan; Sapporo, Fukuoka, Sendai and Hiroshima. The former two of which have the reason for more flourishing and booming town as a matter of course because they are far distant from Capital Tokyo or the second populated 'Kinki' area including Osaka and, besides, they are located on the adjoining island off the mainland of Japan. Theefore, they occupy top-position on the respective isalnd and act as an independent capital-like function. On the contrary, the latter two of which are rather small than the former, because they are situateded on the mainland of Japan and are conparatively less distant from Tokyo and Osaka respectively. Hiroshima is said to be a city not to keep an independent "Fudo", but easily influenced under above-mentioned one. Hiroshima has developed, expanded and flourished her fortune/destiny till now in spite of her rigorous disadvantaged geographical condition. In the course of repulsing her less-favored destined condition, we owe her dynamic power to the ability of prefectural and municipal administration and private enterprise. Hiroshima is a verginal centaral city as well as the first atomic-bombed city famous throughout the whole-world. Hiroshima in the 21st century is imposed heavy task of a wide perspective of rearrangement and development of land, sea, air route within and without city on us. We must not only improve and intensify the function of provincial center but also have a self-awareness of the World City, a mecca for people seeking for world peace. | |||||||||
