| 内容記述 | The present paper aims to investigate the needs of teachers and examine the roles which institutions of higher education should play in fulfilling their needs. First, a survey was conducted on 754 public school teachers in Hiroshima City in order to reveal their needs for learning and their expectations for institutions of higher education. Next, their needs and expectations were compared with the Education Ministry's policy on in-service training for teachers and its view on teachers' qualifications. This comparison was made from the viewpoint of what teachers and the policy maker expect of institutions of higher education as a place for teachers' in-service training. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||
