The financial institution has replaced social collateral requirements with group responsibility. The Grameen Bank improves the productivity and income of the poor and promotes social development. The banking system reduced transaction cost by group lending and the delivery system. Group lending also improves screening, monitoring and enforcing repayment. The Grameen Bank has problems such as the sources of borrowed capital, the activitywise of loans, cost management and so on. The Grameen Bank's experience is very informative. This paper is a report on the system and the experience of the Grameen Bank in Bangladesh.
