However, the consumption of energy have increased sharply with the rapid economic growth. With this rapid expansion of consumption of energy, environmental problem, especially air pollution is getting more and more serious all over the country. As the coal accounts for a large proportion of the first energies in China, it can be said that the main pollution materials are dust, sulfur dioxide, and nitrogen oxides discharged from coal. China cannot go forward avoiding the environmental problems, especially air pollution problem from burning of coal in order to develop further her economy. This paper deals with the present condition of air pollution and the measures against it in the People's Republic of China.
